Scholarships
A nursing education should be within reach of every capable student, regardless of financial circumstance. HIMS College of Nursing offers scholarship support in line with HERA, PNMC, and KMU policy, subject to institutional funding availability each academic year.
Categories of Support
- Merit scholarships — awarded to students who secure top positions (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) in semester or annual university examinations. These recognise sustained academic excellence across a full assessment cycle, not a single test.
- Need-based support — for students facing genuine financial hardship, verified through a documented application and review process. This support exists specifically so that circumstance, not ability, determines who completes their degree.
- Performance-based support — recognising consistent academic and clinical performance across multiple semesters, rather than a single high mark.
Eligibility & Application
Scholarship eligibility is reviewed once per semester. Students interested in applying should:
- Collect the scholarship application form from the HIMS admin office
- Submit supporting documentation (academic transcripts, and financial documentation where applicable)
- Attend an interview or verification meeting if requested by the scholarship committee
Because scholarship funding varies by semester and category, exact amounts and seat numbers are confirmed directly by the admin office rather than published as fixed figures on this page.
