Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC)
The Quality Enhancement Cell exists to answer one question continuously: is HIMS actually delivering the education it promises? The QEC monitors, measures, and improves academic quality across every programme, working within the frameworks set by HERA, PNMC, and Khyber Medical University.
Core Responsibilities
- Monitoring curriculum delivery against PNMC and KMU requirements, course by course
- Conducting periodic self-assessment reports (SARs) ahead of external accreditation reviews
- Collecting structured feedback from students and faculty at the end of each semester
- Identifying gaps between intended learning outcomes and actual student performance
- Supporting faculty development through teaching workshops and peer observation
- Coordinating with the Curriculum Committee on evidence-based course revisions
Why This Matters to Students
Quality assurance can sound abstract, but its effect is concrete: it is the reason a course that isn’t working gets revised instead of repeated unchanged year after year, and the reason student feedback actually reaches the people who can act on it.
