Research
Nursing practice improves when it is built on evidence rather than habit. HIMS College of Nursing treats research not as an academic afterthought but as a core part of preparing clinically capable graduates.
Faculty & Student Research Focus Areas
- Maternal and child health — directly relevant to our LHV Diploma and community health training
- Community and public health nursing — disease prevention, health education, and outreach
- Clinical skills and simulation-based education — improving how the Clinical Skill Lab prepares students for LRH and FCTH placements
- Nursing education and curriculum development — feeding directly into the Curriculum Committee’s work
Undergraduate Research Requirement
Final-year BSN and Post RN BSN students complete a supervised research project as part of their degree, following Khyber Medical University’s research and ethics guidelines. This gives every graduating student direct experience of the research process — formulating a question, reviewing evidence, and drawing defensible conclusions — skills that carry directly into evidence-based clinical practice.
Students interested in research opportunities beyond the required project should speak with their programme coordinator about faculty-led studies currently in progress.
