Social Welfare Society

Social Welfare Society

Nursing is, at its core, a service profession, and the Social Welfare Society gives HIMS students the chance to practice that ethic in the wider community long before they graduate.

Typical Activities

  • Free health awareness camps in underserved communities around Peshawar
  • Blood donation drives, often coordinated with local hospitals
  • Charity and relief collection during emergencies or natural disasters
  • Partnerships with local welfare organisations on public health initiatives

Why This Matters for Nursing Students

Community health experience gained through this society directly complements the public health components of the BSN and LHV curricula — students see, first-hand, the conditions and constraints that shape healthcare access outside a hospital setting.
