Curriculum Committee

Curriculum is not static — healthcare practice, technology, and regulatory expectations evolve, and a nursing programme that doesn’t evolve with them produces graduates trained for yesterday’s hospital. The Curriculum Committee exists to keep HIMS programmes current.

Key Functions

• Reviewing course content across BSN, Post RN BSN, and LHV against current PNMC guidelines and HEC standards
• Incorporating direct feedback from clinical partners — LRH and FCTH — on how well-prepared HIMS students are for real ward conditions
• Reviewing student and faculty feedback gathered by the Quality Enhancement Cell
• Approving updates to course outlines, learning outcomes, and assessment methods
• Ensuring consistency of academic standard across all three programmes

How Changes Happen

The committee meets periodically — typically at the end of each academic year, and whenever PNMC or KMU issue updated curriculum guidance — to formally review and, where justified, revise course content. Nothing changes without documented review; this protects both academic rigour and the value of the qualification a graduating student holds.
